The Opening Ceremony of Women Hockey League 2019 was organised on 16 May, 2019 at Sports Stadium, Sector-4 by Little Angels School. In this momentous occasion, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Shaleen, IAS was the Chief Guest. The School Chairman; Mr. Ashish Arya, Arjun Awardee Pritam Siwach, Sandeep Singh & Mamta Kharab were the Guests of Honour.

The League was organised by Sunday Hockey Team. Mr. Prem Singh Dahiya (Retd. A.E.O) & Mr. Sunil Malik (General Secretary, Hockey League) were also present at the ceremony. The ceremony began with the welcome of the guests. Mr. Pritam Siwach welcomed the Deputy Commissioner; Dr. Shaleen & Guest of Honour; Mr. Ashish Arya by presenting bouquets.

The main aim of this Hockey League is to motivate the players of national game Hockey. Sonipat Bulls, Eagle, Warriors & Mastang teams will be participating in this league which will continue for one & a half month.

First match was played between Sonipat Bulls & Warriors, in which four matches of 15 minutes each were played. The umpires of international repute Seema & Deepa gave their final decisions in the match. The Hockey wizards Neha Goyal & Jyoti will represent Indian team at international level.

All the players were full of zeal & enthusiasm. Dr. Shaleen appreciated the sportsmanship of the players and felt proud of women players who are bringing laurels for our country. He was all praise for Mr. Ashish Arya for his contribution to the field of sports. He has provided best sports facilities to the athletes. Mr. Ashish Arya congratulated all the players for their outstanding performance at national and international levels.
