On Tuesday, 24th March 2026, Little Angels School, Sonipat, hosted a successful one-day capacity building training programme on Skill Education organised by the CBSE Skill Unit. The event drew an enthusiastic group of 80 teachers from across Sonipat and various districts in Haryana. These educators attended to refine their teaching methods and enhance their professional expertise.
The programme commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp. The Principal; Ms Asha Goyal, formally welcomed the esteemed subject experts, Dr. Kiran Dalal and Ms. Nitin Khandewal, by presenting them with planters. In her opening address, the Principal established a professional and collaborative atmosphere focused on elevating educational standards.
The primary goal of the session was to empower educators to implement skill education effectively for Classes VI to VIII. During the day, the resource persons provided detailed guidance on modern teaching strategies and project-based learning. They focused specifically on developing life skills through skill comprehension activity books. This shift from theoretical instruction to active engagement aims to provide students with a more holistic and practical understanding of the curriculum.
A significant portion of the training demonstrated how to nurture practical understanding through three core project areas: Life Farms, Machines and Materials, and Human Services. These thematic projects represent a major step in providing students with genuine real-life experience. They place a strong emphasis on fostering creativity, problem-solving, collaborative working, and an entrepreneurial spirit.
Throughout the session, teachers engaged deeply in interactive discussions and activities. By sharing their own professional experiences, they made the training both practical and effective. As the programme concluded, participants expressed that they felt motivated to integrate these new skill-based frameworks into their respective schools. The school management ended the event by thanking the resource persons and delegates for their contribution to the resounding success of the initiative.
