Senior students of Little Angels School brought Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream to life in a spellbinding performance for their annual 'Literature Day' celebration. This Fourteenth production in the School's long-running series attracted distinguished guests, including educationists, School Principals, and city dignitaries, who were captivated by the students' talent and creativity.
The School Principal; Ms. Asha Goyal and Vice Principal; Ms Geeta Arora began the evening by lighting the ceremonial lamp, followed by welcoming each guest with a plant – a symbol of growth and inspiration. In her opening address, the Principal expressed the School’s commitment to making classic literature accessible and inspiring students across Sonipat to connect with theatre and the arts.
The play, a humorous and insightful tale of love, fantasy and reality, showcased the students’ versatility in portraying Shakespeare’s characters, including Theseus, Hippolyta, Lysander, Hermia, Demetrius, Helena, Egeus, Titania, Oberon, Robin, Bottom etc. They charmed the audience with their portrayal of magical beings, blurring the lines between imagination and reality and making Shakespeare’s world feel vibrantly alive. The energetic narrators and captivating dance sequences added an extra layer of enchantment, keeping the audience spellbound throughout.
The School’s Chairman; Shri Tarsem Kumar Garg, Secretary Dr. Vishal Garg, and Principal; Ms Asha Goyal praised the students' dedication and the teachers’ guidance. They emphasized the program’s role in building confidence, creativity, teamwork and soft skills in the students. Vice Principal; Ms. Geeta Arora concluded the program by thanking the guests and the event ended with refreshments, leaving the audience eagerly anticipating next year’s production.
